Scott completed scoring the 5th and final series of Left Bank Pictures’ massive hit drama for HBO/SKY1 Strike Back/Legacy in mid 2015 which aired worldwide late last year.
In 2013/14, he scored BBC1’s documentary series The Prisoners and Strike Back 4/ Shadow Warfare, for which he also made a soundtrack album.
In 2012 as well as Strikeback/Vengeance, he scored the television movie The Kidnap Diaries for director Norman Hull. The film tells the story of Sean Langan, a journalist who was captured and held hostage by the Taliban whilst trying to film their training camps. They also worked together on My Girlfriend Became 3 Boys.
Scott collaborated with composer Lucas Vidal in 2011 on the feature The Raven, starring John Cusack and Cold Light of Day, starring Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver. Scott crafted electronic textures and rock guitars to accompany Lucas’ orchestral score. He then went on to score Strikeback/Project Dawn.
In 2010 Lionsgate’s UK horror film Psychosis, and Met Film’s feature documentary Men Who Swim were released with scores by Scott, who spent the rest of the year composing Series One of Strike Back.
Scott has collaborated with composers Ilan Eshkeri and Magnus Fiennes on Lynda La Plante’s Trial and Retribution and Injustice (ITV),Series 4 and 5 of Murphy’s Law, The Last Enemy and the HBO drama 5 days respectively. Other television series Scott has scored include the ITV drama series The Fixer and Series 8 of the BBC1 drama Waking the Dead.
As a multi-instrumentalist and renowned rock musician, Scott has written, produced, and played with established acts such as Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros, KT Tunstall, The Beautiful South and GUN. It was through his collaborations with the iconic Strummer that Scott first ventured into the world of film in 2001, when he was invited to co-write the soundtrack to British comedy Gypsy Woman.
Over the past decade, he has worked with many acclaimed film industry figures, composing and programming for feature films including the No.1 US box office hit Kick Ass, the Wachowski Brothers’ martial arts epic Ninja Assassin, Stardust, directed by Matthew Vaughn, and the multi award-winning Strength and Honour, directed by Mark Mahon. Scott co-wrote the Oscar short listed song Only You, performed by Sinead O’Connor, and has provided feature songs and bespoke soundtrack material for many hit films such as Black Hawk Down, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Battle for Haditha, Mike Basset England Manager and Mr and Mrs Smith.
