Award winning writer/director Tim Conrad is now developing a feature screenplay, The Caretaker, a tense drama set in an abandoned factory in a run-down provincial town; and an 8-part tv drama series, The Morning After, set in a private residential clinic. Tim has written and directed adventure, crime and history drama documentaries for all major UK and US broadcasters, including BBC, ITV, Sky, Netflix, Disney+, Channel 5, Fox, Discovery, National Geographic, Hulu, History Channel and more.

Tim’s award winning drama shorts include: Hotel, for Oyster Films, which was shortlisted for an Oscar for Best Live Action Short, and won Best Drama at the LA Shorts Festival; Circles, which was awarded the Grand Prixe at France’s Wattrelos Film Festival, and a Silver Medal at Belgium’s Festival Mondial du Cinema; and Birds of Prey, again for Oyster Films, which had a UK cinema release, was selected for Edinburgh and Berlin, and won the Silver Bear at Austria’s Festival of Nations. He also directed 15 episodes of The Mystic Knights for Saban Entertainment and Fox TV. The show went to No 1 in the US.

He wrote and directed the 2019 Ross Kemp Hatton Garden: The inside Story documentary for  Optomen/ITV. Among his many feature documentaries are Hendrix & The Spook, produced by Star Entertainment for Sky, Reelz and theatrical release, which investigates the suspicious circumstances of the guitar legend’s death. The Times called it ‘An eye-popping, sensational documentary’ – it was TV Critics’ Choice in the same newspaper, and Pick of the Day in The Observer, Telegraph and Mail. His The 1980s: The Decade That Made Us, for National Geographic, was described by the LA Times as ‘great fun and unbelievably thought-provoking’. His feature drama-doc, ‘Ten Days To Victory’, about the last ten days of WW2 as seen through the eyes of ten individuals who played an active part in it, was voted Film of the Year by National Geographic, and hailed by The Independent as, ‘Extraordinary. A monumental achievement.’

Tim started in the industry in the camera department, and worked his way up to lighting cameraman on music videos and documentaries. When he turned to directing, he set up his own production company, which he ran for over ten years, making music promos, commercials, training and corporates. Wanting a change, he sold the company and moved into making documentaries with considerable success.
