CEDILLE RECORDS HAVE RELEASED ACOUSTIC MICROTONAL ALBUM PRODUCED AND ARRANGED FOR ACOUSTIC ENSEMBLE BY MATTHEW SHEERAN.  THE DIGITAL-ONLY RECORDING HONOURS THE ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSAY OF EASLY BLACKWOOD’S DEATH AND COMPRISES TWELVE MICROTONAL ETUDES.

Matthew says “Easley Blackwood’s music is truly original and masterfully constructed, with gorgeous melodies, stunning chord progressions, and some incredibly exciting and moving passages.

His Twelve Microtonal Etudes are written in alternative tuning systems, using notes not found on the piano. Until now this music could only be realised electronically, but advances in auto-tune software has made it possible for me to arrange and record it acoustically.”
