We originally set up Sam Music in 2003, named after our then first Yorkie rescue, as a service to our composer clients without existing publishing arrangements and since then it has grown into a full service business.
For many years Sam Music was represented worldwide by Sony Music but earlier this year we switched to the Bucks Music Group who are one of the UK’s leading and longest running international, independent music publishers. Howard Price, formerly VP of Media Music at Sony moved across to Bucks last year and we’re pleased to be continuing our long standing and successful relationship. We’ve successfully arranged the release of a number of soundtrack albums including albums by Mark Chait of his music for the 3 biggest Chinese dramas series Xia Guang, Frontier Love and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, all released by Sony Records in 2022. Plaza Mayor Records released the soundtrack of Dean Valentine and Dan Baboulene’s score for The Art of Love, Jonathon Deering’s score for Paramount’s multi-award winning Blue Story and Arhynn Descy’s score for the feature Blank. Negotiations are currently in hand for several more soundtrack releases so this is another active sector for us.
