Peter Gardner – Writer/Director
Peter Gardner recently wrote/produced and directed an animated fantasy/adventure pilot ADVENTURES WITH THE CARETAKER which has been selected by several film festivals internationally including the prestigious Mill Valley Film Festival and has won over 40 awards including Best Television Pilot, Best Children’s Film and Best Director. This is now being pitched to amination companies.
The Caretaker looks after legendary creatures and magical ecosystems all over the world and takes two young friends with him as he tends to Bigfoot, The Loch Ness Monster, The Abominable Snowman, Charlie, Chupacabas, and Organism 46-B in the Antarctic
His latest screenplay MR. CHRISTMAS, which will feature an ensemble cast of senior actors, has already captured the interest of Dick Van Dyke, Sir Tommy Steele and others and is about a group of seniors who are getting laid off from the post office and decide to make and deliver toys to children who write to Santa Claus and say that they never get any. Currently under option with producer/director Shari Hamrick Grewal and Auburn Media productions.
After writing many screenplays with broad audience appeal that have wound up in different stages of development all over Hollywood, he recently completed his first novel “The Haunting Of Seaside Hall”. He is currently working on a documentary celebrating movie theaters and the movie-going experience.
Peter began his career working top comedy clubs in Southern California such as The Comedy Store and The Improv performing stand up and improvisational comedy. His career as a screenwriter began right after film school when his first script caught the attention of Leanord Nimoy’s production company and then The Disney Sunday Movie.
He has worked as a “script doctor” on several projects, including the American release of “Freddy as F.R.O.Z.” writing the narration read by Academy Award Winning actor James Earl Jones as well as additional dialogue.
