Bruce Gibbons – Screenwriter

Now based in Britain Bruce Gibbons is a Bermudian author and screenwriter whose passion for storytelling has spanned most of his life.

He is the author of the novel Ashes to Ascendency, currently available through Amazon, and is actively developing original screenplays and television projects including THE LAST STAKE about a London broker  who  travels to West Africa for a high-stakes poker tournament and is cheated out of everything, he finds himself stranded, penniless and invisible in a world that owes him nothing — and must strip away every assumption about status, race and belonging to find his way home, or discover he no longer wants to. It is a tightly written and absorbing screenplay as he struggles with decisions.

Born in Bermuda and raised in Berkeley, California, Bruce attended the University of California.  He did service in the United States Air Force, later working as a restaurant critic for major magazines and newspapers.

Drawing upon a life shaped by different countries, professions and cultures, Bruce brings a broad perspective to his writing. His work explores ambition, power, relationships, personal reinvention and the choices people make when confronted by difficult circumstances.
