Mike MORAN – composer, arranger, songwriter, record producer

Credits include: Time Bandits, New Tricks, Sherlock, Taggart.  Mike Moran is one of the most experienced and versatile of composers, his skills include film/tv scoring, arranging, song writing and record production.

He has been awarded a Gold Badge for services to British music by The British Academy of Songwriters & Composers; a TRIC Award for his music for Taggart and is currently Professor of Piano Jazz at London’s Royal College of Music where he himself was a student.

Mike has over 90 major network scoring credits including Jilly Cooper’s Octavia (Touchpaper); New Tricks (Wall To Wall/BBC); Sherlock:A Case of Evil (Box TV); Scarlet Pimpernel (BBC), starring Richard E. Grant; The Bombmaker (Sky Films); Sharman(World) starring Clive Owen; The Grimleys (ITV); Sex, Chips & Rock ‘n Roll (Wall To Wall/BBC); El CID (ITV); Harry’s Game(ITV); The Man (BBC) starring Lenny Henry in a straight acting role and The Turnaround (Wall To Wall/BBC).

He scored the feature Blessed for Storm Pictures and the Irish film The Lonely Stag, the cult Time Bandits, The Missionary and Water and the 60’s pastiche title music and main song for Dan Film’s Republic of Love.

As a songwriter, record producer and arranged, Mike worked with Freddie Mercury the Barcelona album, Freddie’s hit single The Great Pretender, arranged and produced the London cast albums of The King & ITime and Piaf; and recordings by George Harrison, Extreme, Placido Domingo, The Hollies,  Montserrat Caballe, Elaine Paige and Lemar. Has also worked with Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Kate Bush, Paul Simon, Joe Cocker, Gladys Knight, Robert Plant, Jose Carreras, Rod Stewart and Russell Watson.
